I haven't eaten beef since. Gosh, that was overwhelming. The desert. The peril. Once the sun got 12 noon over-head. You'd be screwed with out sunscreen. The mason-jar margarita's and bbq steak seemed like a mirage. But they were real and rare and really not that tasty. The Joshua Trees are related to lilies. Did you know that?

I remember the first time I heard the word "blog". Like so many firsts, it was Robert Siegel, "All Things Considered", NPR.

I had no idea what he was talking about. I felt very put out; living in the hornets' nest of hipster-dom (Williamsburg, Brkln), and finding out about this after Robert Siegel. He talked about it so casually, almost in passing.
